About Travel Guard's Transition to Zurich Insurance Group
In December 2024, Zurich Insurance Group acquired AIG's global
personal travel insurance and assistance businesses, including
Travel Guard. This acquisition strengthens Zurich's travel
insurance capabilities and expands its global footprint.
Zurich Cover-More is the combined entity formed by bringing
together Travel Guard with Zurich's existing travel insurance
businesses, Cover-More Group. It will operate globally under this
umbrella.
Existing policyholders will continue to be covered and serviced in
accordance with their current policy terms and conditions.
For policies issued prior to May 31, 2026, you may still contact
original insurer for assistance.
For policies issued on or after June 1, 2026, you will be
assisted by the Travel Guard Vietnam team.

There are no exclusions for general business trips under Travel
Guard. Please refer to the terms and conditions in the policy
wording for full details.
You have up to maximum of 30 consecutive days from your arrival in
Vietnam to seek follow-up treatment. Please refer to the terms and
conditions in the policy wording for full details.
We will automatically extend the Covered Period for Your
Overseas Trip shown in Part A – Important Policy Information,
for up to 72 hours if on the Policy Expiry Date shown in the
Policy Schedule or the 90th consecutive day of any one trip
under an Annual Multi-Trip policy, through circumstances outside
your control, you cannot return to Vietnam due to
strike/industrial action, adverse weather conditions, or
mechanical breakdown/derangement or structural defect of public
transport.
The Covered Period for Your Overseas Trip will automatically
extend up to 30 days from the Policy Expiry Date shown in the
Policy Schedule or 48 hours from your discharge (whichever is
earlier) without payment of any additional premium if you are
hospitalised and quarantined overseas as advised by the
attending medical practitioner. Notwithstanding the above, in no
event shall the length of a trip exceed 182 consecutive days in
respect of Per Trip policy or 90 consecutive days in respect of

What to Know Before Purchasing your Travel Guard Travel Insurance
Plan
You may purchase Travel Guard through our official distribution
channels, authorized travel agents or contacting us directly.
You can purchase Travel Guard if:
Your trip must commence in Vietnam;
You must purchase the insurance before departing from Vietnam;
Your departure date must be on or after the policy effective
date; and
For Return Trip and Annual Multi-Trip policies, you must
return to Vietnam at the end of the trip.
Please note if you are above 65 years of age, the sum insured
limit for some benefits including Overseas Medical Expenses and
Personal Accident is lower. Please refer to the policy wording
for full details.
The maximum trip period covered by Travel Guard is up to:
(i) 182 days for return per-trip plans; or
(ii) 90 days for any one trip under an annual multi-trip plan.
A per-trip policy commences cover from the time you depart Vietnam
and ceases upon your arrival in Vietnam or the policy end date,
whichever comes first. The maximum period of coverage for an
overseas trip is 182 consecutive days. An annual multi-trip policy
covers unlimited number of overseas trips, for up to 90
consecutive days each, within the policy year.
You must select the zone based on the highest zone destination
that you intend to travel to. For example, if your travel
itinerary is from Vietnam primarily to Indonesia but includes a
stay in Australia, then you must select ASIA because ASIA includes
Australia. If you only select ASEAN for Indonesia, then we will
not meet any part of your claim that relates to or arises in
Australia. This includes cancellation costs.
After Purchasing
You may do this by contacting your sales agent or us prior to the
policy's effective date.
Per-Trip policy: There will be no refund of
premium once the policy is issued.
Annual Multi-Trip policy: If the policy is
cancelled less than six months from the policy issue date, a
short rate of 50% will apply except if there has been a claim
against the policy during that time period. There will be no
refund for cancellation of a policy after six months from the
policy issue date.
Yes, you may extend your Per-trip policy subject to the
following conditions:
No loss has occurred, nor has any event arisen that could lead
to a claim; and
Your insurance policy has not yet expired; and
Following the extension, the total duration of your trip does
not exceed 182 days.
You can apply for an extension for this trip by submitting a
request via our Customer Service Centre / Contact Us information.
However, the total number of days for the trip must not exceed 182
days. You will be required to confirm your travel arrangements
when you extend the policy. We will review your application for an
extension before deciding whether or not to approve it. If we
approve your application, additional terms, conditions and
exclusions may apply.
You may contact your travel agency or us for guidance on the
claim procedure.
